Kathleen Meyer, Associate Broker
My name is Kathleen A. Meyer also known to friends as Kathie or Kat. I am a native Houstonian and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. A couple of years ago, I decided to make a career change into real estate, though I have been learning about the profession since the early 1970’s when I took my first real estate training. Prior to my change to real estate, I was a teacher and school psychologist. I received my B.S. in education and M.A. in School Psychology. I am an ABD – Ph.D. Being a grandmother was more important than another degree; therefore, I did not complete the dissertation.
For several years of my married life I relocated around the world because of my husband’s work. With my real estate knowledge, I was not only successful in making these major moves, (buying, selling and renting properties), but was able to assist others in finding their homes and acclimating to new communities. I became so adept at this that I was nominated President of the North Atlantic Women’s Club, an organization to aid expatriated women not only assimilate to their new home and area but give back to the community though charitable fundraising.
Currently, I am licensed to sell real estate in Louisiana and Texas, which allows me to help my clients on both sides of the Toledo Bend Reservoir. I am a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Women’s Council of Realtors. In addition, I am working to obtain my Texas and Louisiana Broker’s Real Estate License.
